June 7-13 is National Pet Appreciation Week. Were you aware of this, and did you take time out to show your pet appreciation? If not, it isn’t too late! You still have an entire day to celebrate! You can also show your fur babies love and appreciation every day. Today, we’ll be sharing numerous ways that you can show pet appreciation. We’ll cover topics such as quality time, quality nutrition, and quality veterinary care.
How to Spend Quality Time With Your Pets During National Appreciation Week (and every day!)
As you know, going for walks is something that benefits both you and your dog. Fresh air and exercise do wonders for the body, mind, and spirit. Even though we must practice social distancing, you can still take advantage of parks and hiking trails that aren’t densely populated. Change up the routes of your walks so that you and your dog can explore new sights and smells. Try going for a short sprint here and there because this encourages a broader range of movement. Besides just the physical benefits, walks, and runs create a bonding experience that strengthens your relationship with your pet. Just be careful when it’s hot out! Playing with your pet is another way to spend quality time. There are many interactive toys on the market that can take your bonding experience to the next level. Here are two fun picks:
- Our Pets Play-N-Squeak Backyard Cat Toy: combines a bird exterior along with catnip and electronic sounds to stimulate your cat for hours. This toy includes an electronic chirping module that brings out your cat’s natural hunting instincts.
- Chuckit Max Glow Pro Launcher– This glow-in-the-dark launcher with whistling sounds makes fetch visually-interesting, engaging, and interactive
Implementing Quality Nutrition and Veterinary Care
The best way to show pet appreciation is to keep their health at the forefront. The #1 way to keep a pet healthy is to bring them into a team of expert veterinarians like the ones here at MCAH! We can provide your pet with a high-quality and healthy nutrition plan. We partner with Purina, Royal Canin, and Hill’s Pet Nutrition to ensure that your pet has the best diet! You also want to make sure your pets are vaccinated to help protect them against common diseases. We also stress the importance of pets coming to regularly scheduled vet appointments. Our vets are trained to find things you may miss.
Do you have a feline friend or canine companion that you want to show off? Remember to use the hashtag #NationalPetAppreciationWeek. Also, please share your pictures on our Facebook page.
