Pets are part of the family, but unfortunately, they can’t always go along on out-of-town trips and vacations. Most pets can easily spend time at a local boarding facility or with an in-home pet sitter. But some pets have special medical needs and require extra attention and administration of medications or treatments. Mount Carmel Animal Hospital can help! Let us take care of your beloved pet so you can enjoy your time away without worrying about your pet’s medical needs being taken care of.
Health Condition
Pets staying with us for boarding should be current on core vaccines to ensure their health and the health of our other patients. Additionally, MCAH requires that all boarding patients be protected against external parasites and currently taking an effective flea & tick preventative. MCAH recommends Bravecto for all dogs (Bravecto Monthly for dogs under 6 months of age and Bravecto 12-week for dogs 6 months and older), and Bravecto Plus for all cats 6 months and older (8 weeks
of protection).

Check In and Check Out Appointments
Please make an appointment to check in and check out for your pet’s boarding stay. Knowing when your pet will be arriving and departing enables us to have everything ready and staff available to assist you and get you on your way quickly. You may schedule an appointment well in advance or simply call about an hour before you would like to check in or check out.
We do not have pick-up hours on Sundays or holidays.
Personal Belongings
We prefer that you do not send personal items such as toys or bedding with your pet. If these items become soiled and need to be washed, they will be washed with our general hospital laundry. We do several hundred pounds of laundry each day and it is very difficult to keep track of individual personal items. If you must bring personal items, please make sure that each item is labeled in a permanent marker with your pet’s name.
